Style Profile: Blake Lively

Whether she is filming for Gossip Girl, attending a red carpet event or grabbing a cup of coffee, Blake Lively always stands out with her impeccable style. I love her ability to mix classic pieces with trendier items and make it work. She can pull of literally ANY color - pink  and neon blue trousers? Blake is not afraid to play with trends and pulls it off with class. She has most recently been announced as the new face of Chanel, which is very fitting since she has worn their pieces so often in the past. It is clear that playing Serena Van Der Woodsen has impacted Blake's style so much that, at times, it is difficult to know if she is filming or not. This isn't a bad thing - I wouldn't mind raiding both of their closets!

How To: Parkas

It has been quite a while since I have done a tutorial/how to and I thought with this beautiful Spring weather, it would be appropriate to feature parkas. I love this as an alternative to the classic trench because it adds some edge to an outfit and isn't so overdone. Most parkas are made out of nylon making them equally perfect for those rainy April days. Since it is a somewhat masculine piece, I would style it with a flowy dress and some flats or even rainboots with stockings. I also like playing with proportions and love the idea of pairing a parka with skinny jeans and wedges.

 

I will for surely be keeping my eye out for the perfect parka for this Spring, most likely at an H&M near you. Just sayin.

Sweet Valley Fox

I am loving these images from Wildfox's Summer 2011 ad campaign, so fun! I have really begun to look forward to what the ladies at Wildfox will do each season; it is always super creative and inspiring to me. Wildfox always somehow manages to display a fun and sexy side and I like how all of their lookbooks seem to tell a story and have an underlying theme (usually involving lots of California blonde and 90's inspiration.) This season was no exception, highlighting some fabulous separates and great styling - btw, I recently tried on one of their tops and I could not get over how soft the fabric was! I am now a believer that the clothes are not only adorable but are uber high quality. Add some pink lipstick and what's not to love?
