Now Trending: NYFW 2012

AND I promise this will be last post on Fashion Week - but still one of the most relevant. After checking out some of the shows online, I have found some of major hits (The Row, J.Crew, Rag & Bone, Tibi, Derek Lam) and some not so much (L.AM.B....I'm still confused, Gwen.) All in all, there were some trends that were consistent and will surely be seen full force next Fall, such as:

NYFW 2012 MVPS

While most websites and bloggers alike have been buzzing about their favorite fashion shows from last weeks Mercedes Benz fashion week in NYC, I have been much more transfixed on the bloggers themselves! Most brought their A-game and here are the ones that I was most impressed with, thus far:

If there was ever a style that would be described as "Bad-ass Western/Victorian" this would be it! Talk about true grit, the brother duo of Dsquared introduced their Fall 2011 collection with this concept in mind. These two have always been over the top but I can't get over their original designs and for some reason, I feel like this trend will catch on (although, probably not to this extent.) My favorite look in the collection would have to be above. Anything with fur, a pop of color and a fabulous belt has my name all over it!

Chloé Fall 2011 RTW

Ahh, Paris Fashion Week...It doesn't get much better. The Chloé show was highlighed by 70's style and snakeprint inspired pieces. I have always thought of this brand to be classic with a touch of modern feminine. Considering I can't get enough of flowy pieces right now, the first look is my favorite. The dress is simply gorgeous and so unique. I am interested to see what the rest of the week brings...stay tuned!

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011

I know I'm behind on this, but I just had to feature Burberry's Fall 2011 show that took place in London a little over a week ago. I really enjoyed seeing the range of Christopher Bailey, Burberry's creative director. Although I wish more separates would have been featured, the coat was definitely the star of the show and tailored to perfection. Ranging from cropped pea coat styles to the military trench, there were many different options and I am obsessed with all of the patterns. My favorite, by far, goes to the closer of the show - I love the classic pattern with the bow, not to mention the shoes and bag are killer.

Monique Lhullier Fall 2011

I have been dreaming of being married wearing Monique Lhullier since I can remember and now I know why. After seeing her Fall 2011 collection, I cannot believe how gorgeous her gowns are! Overall, this collection was very sultry and feminine. And it clearly displays Monique's ability to design for a woman's body. Everything was fitted to perfection especially all the separates. The final gown is my top pick - it is composed of nearly a thousand ostrich feathers. Genius.

Jason Wu Fall 2011

I usually feature collections that I feel stand out most to me and during NY Fashion Week, that was Jason Wu. He focused on tailoring this season while incorporating feminine touches of lace throughout his collection. I love the ladylike tops and think the gowns are fabulous. Not to mention, sheer blouses are on my list of must haves right now. The first photo is my favorite look, the citron skirt really makes a statement and it is such a fun color!

Paris Fashion Week: Elie Saab

I have been somewhat following the craziness that is Paris Fashion Week and I have been, if anything, amused by some of the unique designs. I know that most of the things that go down the runway will never end up in an actual store, but it has been interesting seeing these truly unique pieces. I was most impressed with Elie Saab who debuted his collection on Tuesday. Every-single-thing that went down the runway was stunning, so soft and elegant. These are the most glamorous gowns I've seen at Paris Fashion Week thus far and I am sure we will probably see them worn by a celeb or two come award season.
